Our Journey
Sure, We Have History
At MIRAC, we empower communities through civic education, advocacy, and transparency initiatives. Our impactful journey includes:
The Gender Equality and Rights (GEAR) Project
In partnership with FOWODE and funded by the EU, the GEAR Project in Hoima and Kikuube Districts:
Reached 12,000+ people through civic education and gender-based violence awareness.
Monitored 23 schools and 16 health centers, leading to improved supplies, staffing, and infrastructure.
Transparency through Contract Monitoring
With PPDA and GIZ support, we strengthened accountability in Hoima, Kikuube, and neighboring districts:
Trained 23 monitors, submitted 96 reports, and monitored 126 projects, driving corrective actions.
Conducted 8 district dialogues, enhancing collaboration between leaders, contractors, and citizens.
Extractive for Community Development
Focused on land compensation and local content in the oil and gas sector:
Reached 10,000+ beneficiaries and educated 50,000 people via media campaigns and community meetings.
Trained monitors who reported 56 land compensation and 3 local content issues.
Supported local businesses with information on formal registration and National Local Content Act benefits.
Driving Change Together
